Pinot Gris 2010 Grand Cru Kessler (Sweet)
Vinous by Ian d'Agata 93/100
Bright gold-tinged straw. Ripe peach on the nose, with strong floral elements of peony and lily. Then rich and suave on the palate, offering dense, tactile flavors of peach, honeydew and truffle oil. Finishes long and noticeably sweet (100 g/l) but with lipsmacking acidity and a bright mineral sheen. These vines were planted in the '70s by Schlumberger, but Dirler-Cadé exchanged a parcel of their vines in the Saering with Schlumberger to buy these. This could easily have been called a VT.
