Riesling 2011 Grand Cru Spiegel (Medium-dry)
Wine Advocate par David Schildknecht 92/100
Vinous par Ian d’Agata 90+/100
Bright straw green. Intense chlorophyll and spicy herb notes complicate ripe apple and peach aromas. Sweet and round, with pear and papaya flavors complemented by candied citrus and almost tropical fruit notes. The round, persistent finish shows noticeable sweetness (actually 12 g/l). This wine normally improves considerably with age (it's usually best after 15 years or so), picking up notes of herbs and verbena.
La Revue du Vin de France June 2012 Huge success - Gault et Millau Guide 16/20 “Grand Cru with a flowery dimension, clementine and violets taste. Its body is also incredible with a noticeable fresh mint taste. Great table Riesling wine.” - 12g/l of residual sugar –
with pikeperch in a puffed pastry served with spinach
