Riesling 2014 Grand Cru Kessler (Dry)
Wine Advocate by Stephan Reinhardt 94+/100
Vinous by Ian d’Agata 92/100
Straw-green. Mirabelle, apple, pear and crystallized ginger on the captivating nose. Then multilayered and dense on the palate, displaying concentrated, fine-grained lemon peel, nectarine, guava and lichee flavors. There is real depth and complexity here. A portion of Dirler’s Kessler vines was planted in 1959; in fact, this vineyard has, on average, the oldest vines of any Dirler-Cadé property except for the Sylvaner in the Heisse Wanne plot, in the heart of the Kessler, which was planted in 1957.
